Blog #1 - ...a 'ready meal' for your mind

It is the first time I am blogging as a coach so I hope you get something out of it.
It is my plan to offer short sharp thoughts that can be applied immediately in your life.
Those of you who have worked with me will know that one of the areas I always come back to is self-awareness.
The main model here to understand is dead simple:
Our thoughts create our feelings, our feelings drive our actions and our actions produce our results.
90% of the time we haven’t a clue what our thoughts are and they are sub-conscious.
We accept this and let them direct our feelings. We then decide what to do or not do as a result of these feelings. This my friends is crazy town and what’s more a whole bunch of other options are available to us.
Try something. Next time you have a negative thought.....
stop! It can be hard to realise when these thoughts occur is as it can be fleeting and at a subconscious level. Look out for it. It might be an old story you tell yourself. It might be a negative spin on something day to day. If you stop you can reflect. Be really really curious about this thought and examine how your mind has brought this up. Now be nice to yourself and experience the thought in full and pause before you let it drive a feeling or any active decision.
Take a moment to consider if the thought serves you or if it gets in the way of what you really need.
